PACES’ new set of officers for the biennium 2018-2020 assumed their duties officially at an induction ceremony held 29 May 2018 at the Arcotel Kaiserwasser Hotel in Vienna’s 22nd district.
For 2018-2020, the newly elected officers who took the oath were: Malou Reininger, President, Marizel Rojas, Vice President Internal Affairs: Gina Weinzierl, Vice President External Affairs; Robee Sellegue, Secretary; Nilsa Fischer, Treasurer; Evelyn Zeigler, Assistant Treasurer; Jane Abaya, Auditor; and Efren Abaya, Chairman of the Scholarship Committee.
Fr. Pater Matthias Schlögl, of the Order of St, Augustine, said the invocation and, as honorary guest on this occasion, delivered a speech of encouragement, directed at those in PACES who had answered the call to honorary service. He emphasized the seven pillars of honorary work, namely, 1) Verkündigung (Proclamation), 2) Liturgie (Liturgy), 3) Bildung (Education), 4) Solidarität (Solidarity) 5) Caritas (Charity), 6) Gemeinschaft (Community), and 7) Leitung (Leadership).
Consul Leilani Feliciano of the Philippine Embassy performed the induction ceremony and in her speech stressed the importance of PACES work in supporting Filipino college students pursue their studies in the filed of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The occasion also marked the 2nd anniversary of PACES.
