PACES will hold its first Lecture Series on Science and Technology on 18 September 2018 with talks from Dr. Carlo Arcilla, head of the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (PNRI) and Dr. Teodoro M. Gatchalian, Assistant Secretary of the Philippine’s Department of Science and Technology (DOST). The lecture is a joint initiative of PACES and the Philippine Embassy in Vienna. It will take place from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at the Philippine Embassy Multipurpose Hall, 21st floor, Ares Tower, Donau-City- Strasse 11, 1220 Wien. The doors will open at 5:30 PM.
Director Arcilla and Dr. Gatchalian are expected to speak on the relevance of science and technology in the Philippines. After the talk, there will be an opportunity for a Q&A with the speaker. This will be an excellent opportunity to improve our awareness of the importance of S&T to Philippine development.
Their talks will be the first in a lecture series that is conceived to invite distinguished experts and scholars in the field of S&T who work in Vienna or visit Vienna. It is generally aimed at those working in science-related fields and young people beginning their careers.
Seating is limited so those interested are requested to confirm their attendance (RSVP) by sending an email to office@paces-stems.org, indicating the name and email address of the attendee.
