The second lecture under the PACES Lecture Series on Science and Technology will highlight the role of nuclear medicine in cancer treatment and detection. Dr. Thomas Pascual, one of the distinguished Filipinos working in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), will speak on the topic: “Seeing beyond the surface – Nuclear medicine in detecting and treating cancer and other conditions.”
Dr. Pascual will present current nuclear medicine applications for managing certain diseases such as cancer and dementia. He will also briefly discuss the role of the IAEA in promoting this technology in low and middle income countries, including the Philippines.
The lecture will take place on Tuesday, 13 November from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Room M6 of the Vienna International Centre (VIC), Wagramer Strasse 5, in the 22nd district. The lecture will be given in English.
